The feat, achieved by factory test driver Markus Lundh, dethrones the Rimac Nevera, which had briefly held the crown. Even more impressively, the Jesko Absolut’s new time is over 2.5 seconds faster than its own 2024 benchmark.
Brains Over Brawn: The “Absolut Overdrive” Advantage
Unlike most record-breaking attempts that rely on mechanical upgrades, Koenigsegg’s latest achievement was powered by software innovation. The team introduced a new system called “Absolut Overdrive”, which fine-tunes drivetrain and traction control with surgical precision.
This software allows the Jesko Absolut to deliver near-perfect power management, optimising grip and stability at extreme speeds. Importantly, these updates will also be rolled out to customer cars, ensuring owners can benefit from the same performance breakthroughs.

The record attempt was far from ideal. The tarmac at Örebro airfield was damp due to earlier rain — a significant challenge for a rear-wheel-drive hypercar with a twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 producing over 1,600 horsepower.
Despite this, the Jesko Absolut surged from 0 to 400 km/h in 16.77 seconds, then came to a complete halt in 8.44 seconds. The combined 0–400–0 km/h time of 25.21 seconds sets a new industry benchmark.
For context, these figures put Koenigsegg ahead of the world’s most advanced all-wheel-drive electric hypercars, highlighting the raw capability of a combustion-powered, aerodynamically optimised machine.
